Just how many runners are left to run long on Sunday with the competing forces of the Lake Winnie Relay and the EMARC 5K/Victorian Fair?
Typically, when the Sunday Long Run is on the same Sunday as the EMARC race, we start the long run early (7am) to ensure we don’t interfere with Victorian Fair prep on Main St. and to allow some runners to volunteer at the 5k.
I need to know who is still in for the Sunday Long Run with week. From the looks of who identified themselves last Sunday and at Tuesday night’s run, I can count you all on one hand so far.
Please post on here if you do plan on running the full (20 miles) or the half (10.2 miles) run that will start from Bruegger’s at 7am this Sunday (Sept 9th).
Early Roll Call, here we go…
Mike and I We can always run on our own
We are in for the half
I’m in and will be there at 7! I’ll probably run somewhere around 10-14 miles. Thank you!
Mike and I are going to do the Lake Q route leaving a car at Wallgreens in Wakefield with water and Gagtorade for whoever comes. I will be doing the 8 and Mike will be adding the lake to his route for 11 or so.
I will be out there for some water stops. I still have to study the route and see “who’s in” for “how far” before I decide.
Hey runners,
I’m feeling like the group is going to be VERY small this week. Betty Cooper has waterstop supplies.
I’m off to Lake Winnie for the relay. I’m hoping you can all coordinate with each other from here on in. I would suggest that you converse here so that all can see the thread of communication. my other suggestion to all who show up, make sure you have a plan B if you are not following the same route as others, or adding additional miles beyond and agreed upon route. bring money with you just in case, know where water fountains are, maybe even hide some supplies for yourself. it’s going to be humid so plan accordingly.
we’ll be back to our regular posted route and meeting time next week.
big thank you to Betty Cooper!
Hello,
Is anyone running the long course? If so, two of us (Jenna and I) would like to join for the 20 miler this Sunday. We’re new to the MRC.
Thanks Lois! You’re the best. It’s early but it looks like most might be looking at doing the lake Q route.
Anyone looking to go longer could run this route with the stop at main street you could go from here out and back to Breakheart or add on using Brueggers as a stop or do the combo? I’m hoping to be in for 10 or more.
It looks like a 7 am start.
I won’t be able to run, I hurt my ankle, but I can help out with a water stop
Hi Folks,
Cynthia, thanks for the help. As I see it, Jenna & Monica plan 20.0 Mystic Lakes Route. Time will tell if we get more runners. I will see everyone at Brueggers shortly before 7am to discuss what water stops will be covered. It would be helpful to know your pace so that I can time myself going from water stop to water stop. Brian, let me know if you change your mind about your route. I will check the blog again Sat. early a.m. & evening for additional comments/changes.
I can help you Betty but I need to leave around 10ish to get Isabella to her soccer game at 11am. I’ll check back later tonight.
I’ll be there at 7am for a 16 mile run via Lake Q and Breakheart.
I volunteered for the EMARC race, so I’ll try to get my miles in earlier and then head over there. Maybe I’ll see you all on the road. If not, then next week…
Not sure how far I’m going [10 or so] but i’ll run whatever route works.
Thanks Betty
Volunteers and long runners please know the 20.0 route or bring a printout of the map. Thanks Haech. You’re not running with Judy & Mike? See everyone in the morning.
Not planning on running so I can help but I will need to leave by 10 to get to soccer. I’ll check back to see if Betty still needs help.
Haecha, if we have peeps doing the 20.0 I’ll need help at those stops. Check out the route and decide if there is any you can do in your time frame. Looks like most peeps are staying local with Lake Q & Breakheart. I’ll find out in the morning what needs coverage. Thanks.
Come on Brian, do the 16 with me. You know you want to.
Thank you Cynthia for coming out this morning. Sorry, we couldn’t use your help. Christina the runners took off about 7:10. Did you come out? Haecha, glad you could get a run in early! See you all Tuesday.
Many thanks to Betty,Cynthia and Haecha for making sure our little group got what they needed this morning!!!!
