Okay runners,
Mother Nature isn’t interested in negotiating. Me thinks she might see the cold and snow and ice as helpful to our preparations. Okay then.
We might have another dousing of snow on our hands for Sunday morning. Â As long as we’re not competing with the snow plows, we’ll be running one of my favorite courses, in through the Winchester Highlands area for either 16.2 or 8.2 not-so-flat miles.
We have our waterstops covered (thank you, thank you, Jeff R. and Rick C.).
What do we need to do? Review the map(s). Know where you’re going. Get some rest where you can. Hydrate and fuel your body. Pick out your best winter layers. and Saturday night do a little dance for Mother Nature so that she doesn’t make it too dangerous for us to be on the roads Sunday morn.
Who is in?? ROLL CALL!
Don’t be shy. The snow won’t bite.
I’ll be there for something depending how many I get in today.
Thanks Lois,Jeff and Rick!
I’m in for the full…….
Ignoring the forecast, I’m in for the full. Ugh.
Myself and friend (Sam Pellegrini) will hopefully joining for the long weather permitted! will it be posted on this site whether run is canceled or not? Thanks!
IFTF
Dare I say IFTF. If it is too bad, might just turn around and run to the gym…
IFTF
IFTF – anybody know Heat Miser’s #? 🙂
in for something, did my long run today.
What snow? lol Hoping to make it for the full.
In for the full with the -1.75 shortcut 🙂
IFTF unless I accidentally on purpose go back to sleep after I see the snow.
Theresa,
It’s hard to know what the morning will bring… of course we need to be safe and use our best judgment. Go with your gut, but not likely we’ll cancel.
Just wanted to thank everyone again for the care package and well wishes for my son. He is doing really well and is coming home this week. We really do appreciate the bagels in the package you put together (along with all the other goodies), but I can’t wait to join everyone on Sundays again so that after the run I can pick up the bagels myself and then the best part: bring them home where my son will be. Hope the roads are cleared up enough for your run tomorrow. Best, Ed
Thanks for the update Ed and relieved that Ryan is on his way to recovery. Will be rooting for you all the way.
If there is a day to miss SLR that would be tomorrow :).
Looking forward for you to joining us on the road and track again 😀
Hey Ed,
Agreed, awesome news…
As for me, I’ll be doing the treadmill.
Still in recovery mode. Be safe.
Ed – so nice to hear from you and to know all is going well. We miss you, but your spot at the front of the pack will be held for your return (no one would step up and run as fast as you do to take the spot, so it’s all yours).
SLR – I need someone to pick me up tomorrow. I’m going to leave my car at the end of Highland in Winchester, water stop 2. Anyone wanna pick me up at 7:45am?
Sure…I can pick you up. My cell is 781-697-0439
In for the full!!
IFTF! Bring it on Mother Nature! 🙂
Ed, I really miss running with you and I promise to shelter you from the cold winds :):)
In for the short run
With Courtney, in for the full minus the 1.75
Thanks, Jeff! I will plan to be at the end of Highland at 7:45. 781–424-5183 is my cell. 🙂
Right then.. in for TFF! :o)
Ed, the Sunday crew will be looking forward to your return. Thanks for the update. I’m up in cold and snowy (and beautiful) VT so I’m going to miss this one. Enjoy !!!
Ed – great to hear from you that son is coming home. Godspeed to Ryan and take care!
Ed- So glad to hear Ryan is on the mend! We look forward to your return! Be well!!
Sorry I’m missing out on another SLR!
