This week’s 12.5 mile run requires a single water stop at Highland Ave. Thanks to both Gloria and Margaret for offering. If Gloria can take this week I’m sure the RI marathoners could use Margaret’s help next week. If you both are OK with that I’ll get supplies to Gloria on Saturday. Let me know.
Ed
Ed, the Providence runners are doing 20 this week. I don’t have the route completely figured out but I think two rolling stops could be helpful. This could be done with the help of Gloria, Margaret, and/or other Sunday Runners after they’re done with their short run.
The route will most likely follow the summer route, include a 3 mile loop around Swains Pond and a 3 mile loop around Pine Banks. Theoretically a water stop at the knoll plus a stop near Lebanon and Sylvan that we hit a few times could do the trick. More on the locations later…
Thanks,
Jim
Jim, I forgot that my wife is on a business trip this week and not due back ’til Sunday night so I am OUT of this week’s run.
Based on Jim’s POST let’s plan on at least 2 water stops. I can be available after my ‘short’ run if need be.
Gloria and Margaret, details to follow shortly. I will plan to drop supplies off in Melrose on Saturday. I could bring them by Gloria’s place or just leave them with Jim in the morning for you each to pick up during the day. Let me know what works.
Ed
Ed,
That’s fine. I can meet up with Jim & gang at Brugger’s at 8am and go to wherever with my paper, my coffee & a book on Sunday.
Hi Ed,
I can pick the water stop supplies up at Jim’s on Saturday since I have a tshirt to drop off.
Jim -we’ll coordinate for me to pick the supplies up.
Thanks!
Margaret
Jim/Ed,
I have some supplies in my car, and thought we could use my car as a Brueggers stop for the longer run people. In the planning for this week, please note we have had water stops every 3-4 miles which I have grown accustomed to. Are we going to skimp on them now? Just tell me I’m being a big baby.
If Gloria and Margaret want to meet us at Brueggers no dropping off is necessary, we can take care of it all in the morning. That’s up to Ed.
As far as stops go, I’m think one on Highland ave by the Mobil station.
Another extra stop at the South St parking lot at the other end of the pond.
Back to the stop on Highland Ave.
South St volunteer goes to the Knoll.
Highland Ave volunteer heads to Lebanon somewhere between Park St and Forest St. (Another runner could relieve the water stop volunteer there at some point). We’ll be doing two loops through here.
I’ll post a link to a mapmyrun map of the extended route shortly.
I plan on running 9-10 miles by going to Spot Pond, down Elm and around, back to Pond to W. Wyoming to Brueggers. If I can help anywhere with a water stop, let me know, if nobody else comes forward, I’ll do what i can 🙂
Sounds good, Jim. Let’s meet at Bruegger’s at 8. Margaret and Gloria can handle the first 2 stops. Sue or I can relieve after our run. I’ll wait to see the map for the details.
No drop off of supplies on Sat.
Ed
I am planning to run 7 miles and will be glad to pick up one of the later water stops.
