On order to plan the cars for this weekend’s long 22 mile run, I need to know who is running what. Please respond to this post with a note about what you want to run, if you want to help with water stops and if you have a car to use to transport runners and for water stops. Also let me know if you’ll be bringing anyone else. The hope is that the number of seats, the number of runners, and the number of drivers all add up… which oddly enough it has worked out the past few years.
Thanks,
Jim
I’m in for the full route. I have a minivan that can be used if someone wants to drive it. It will seat 6 passengers plus driver.
Hoping to do the full route. I have a minicar seating a total of 5 for anyone to drive with a valid license…sorry no Carson kids behind the wheel.
I am in for the long run. I have the beat up Passat that is a two year vet of Mill Cities, but my guess is that there will be others with bigger cars. Offer is there if it is needed. You have to explicitly prohibit Carson kids from driving? There is a story I need to hear.
I’m in, planning on 16 miles. If I can help out with the water stops in any way, just let me know how. Barry will be joining me but he’s not sure what distance he’ll be doing. We only have a small car and a 2 seater truck but can drive if need be.
p.s. We both drive standard. I should probably say that up front before offering up our cars! 😉
I’m in for the full route. I’d offer up my company car for someone to drive but it’s against policy….sorry. In this economic climate, I don’t need to provide extra reasons for Hallmark to fire me:) And you probably don’t want to be seen behind the wheel of a big blue minivan anyway!
I’m in for the full route. I have a Civic (only seats 4 comfortably…5 if you squish), which if someone wants to drive – they can. Provided they aren’t a Carson child…
I’m also in for the full route and also have a Civic (unfortunately I will not have my husband’s more comfortable station wagon) but I am more than happy to offer it up if it can be used.
I am in to drive-no running. I will work on getting the Honda Pilot, otherwise I guess I could probably drive one of the minivans?
I’m in for the full run (at least that is the plan). My car is available, but small and a standard. however, still an option. i can transport 3 plus me, if needed. Carson kids are allowed to drive me crazy, drive me to drink, drive a hard bargain, drive a run in, or drive the ball to the hoop, but not allowed to drive my car.
I’m in for the full run!
I have a Honda Civic, but I’ll be glad to let anyone drive who needs it for water stops, etc…
I’m running the full, and I can transport 4 or 5 total.
Full 22 and can drive… 3 additional comfortable.
Additional weather information…
I am hoping for a window of opportunity this Sunday where we can run in ‘only’ 30 minutes of light showers during this 3 and 1/2 hr test of winter M prep.. instead of heavier more persistent showers.
I will post you if odds favor drenching showers during our run… but we wont know this … maybe til 3 hours before hand… and so, we take our chances.
This is a good test for body glide and assorted methods of preventing chafing/blistering of the feet/shorts-thighs and upper arms (nip guards for me too).
Hello to all!
Walt
I’m going to do my long run on Saturday to hopefully stay dry. I don’t want to risk making my injury worse by running in the rain. On Sunday, I can drive our car (seats 4 comfortably, 5 squished) or one of the minivans. I just need to be back in Melrose by 1PM. Let me know.
I will try for the 22 though it’s a bit of a stretch. My car can fit 5 though it’s cozy in the back seat. It is also a manual transmission.
Hi, all! I would like to run the whole thing. My Passat wagon seats 5 with extra storage in back.
Same deal for me. I will be running the full 22. I have a Honda CRV that can seat four passengers but would need a driver.
I’m planning on 18. I also have a Honda CRV that can seat four passengers-five in a pinch. Kim is also planning to provide roving water support from Framingham on. Her car can fit three people.
JIm!
Since I am a wimp when it comes to the weather & since I live on this side of the world I think I am going to give it a try on Saturday in dry conditions. It is my understanding that the Arthritis Foundation and their Joints in Motion team is running in from Hopkinton to BC tomorrow so I might be able to bum off them.
The good news is I can do course support for MRC on Sunday.
I would like to run around 9-10, usually I jump in at Wellesley Center (Brueggers I believe) and finish up with everyone. Am willing to drive if needed. I will have a Clough kid, not much different from a Carson kid, who is willing to drive but not allowed. BUT if this is too difficult and nobody else is willing to run the first part, I can run on Sat, so just let me know.
I’m in for 22. Accord, automatic, seats 5, available if necessary.
