May 16th Run

Who’s up for Dan’s Taper Run? He’ll be doing 14.5 and it looks like he’s planning to run the same route we ran last week… although I had suggested Horn Pond. There’s a chance I won’t be around to join in (but I don’t really know what I’m doing until I’m actually doing it these days) so I’ll leave the planning up to you guys. Post your interest , coordinate a water stop or two, and get Dan one week closer to Vermont City!

I do love Spot Pond but will go where I have company.

  2. Sue Clough says:

    I meant Horn Pond

    I’m in!
“although I had suggested Horn Pond” – don’t remember this…and which is Horn Pond again? I didn’t want the week to fly by, so I suggested the 14.6 route which gets me closer to the 14.8 than this (14.1) route. I am fine with whatever.

Horn Pond is in Woburn and is very popular with our female Sunday Long Runners due to how scenic it is there. We ran it about a month ago, the Sunday before Boston. Its just different if you’re looking for variety.

I was going to park at Highland and run spot pond at 8 am ish. My car can serve as a water stop for anyone coming or going.

  7. Rachelle Horwitz says:

I wish I could be there, but I can’t! I’ll be running on Saturday instead.

  8. I’m in . I’m not sure for what distance. I’m doing the 1/2 marathon on the 30th so should I taper- and where did you go last week. I need to check it out prior, you know I will get lost.

  9. Nick Lamberti says:

    Hope to make it!

  10. Dorota Bulik says:

I’m in. My family will do the water stop at the Horn Pond on the parking lot near the restrooms. Be on a look-out for a gray Outback. I will tie a yellow bandanna to the antenna :0)

See you there. Weather looks promising so far.

I’ll be a water stop @ Eugene rd/st just over the highway in Winchester. I’ll run a 7 miler from there around Horn Pond and back. Dan that is the route you’re doing, right?
Jim, can I grab some ws stuff from you? Email me because I’m going out for the night pretty soon and won’t have access to this site, but can get my email. Thx.

  12. Dan Slattery says:

    Good evening folks!
2 Gold Margaritas and a Dos Equis (I AM the most interesting man in the world) @ Border Cafe later – I’ll run Spot or Horn – I will be at Brueggars @ 8am, leaving @ 8:05am with whomever is there and intent on running one of the said choices…

  13. Lois Parker Carmona says:

ha ha ha. nothing fuels a long run like a couple gold margaritas!

  14. Sue Clough says:

Ok, so I just talked to Nancy and I think her, Lois and I are going to start from Spot Pond and do the route, I’m sure you’ll all pass us somewhere along the route. See you in the morning

  15. Nancy says:

thanks for doing the water support, Barry and Dorota. We are starting from the Zoo….see you along the course.

  16. Jim says:

Just got back from my daughters’ dance recital, busy day. I don’t know what I’m doing in the morning, Kait’s got softball at some point. It sounds like the majority is opting for some version of Horn Pond in the morning. Dorota, thank you very much for volunteering your family for a Horn Pond water stop, that’ll help out a lot.

I’ll bring the water stop bucket to Brueggers, and Dan has one too. I’m not sure what’s in them, but they should get us through this run. Hopefully Barry can pick up supplies there.

Dorota, Michelle, Dan, and maybe Mary will start out there. At the same time Nancy, Lois, and Sue will start from the Zoo. Barry will jump in at Eugene, Liz somewhere along the way. Dan, you can take the fellsway back to Brueggers instead of Wyoming to get in the extra mile to make it just over 15.

See some of you in the morning to send you off at least.
    Jim

  19. Jim says:

Liz, you’ve jumped in this one around the Gingerbread Construction Company in Winchester before, I think.

  20. Anthony Capua says:
