{"id":280,"date":"2021-02-21T17:11:30","date_gmt":"2021-02-21T17:11:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.melroserunningclub.com\/RacingSeries\/?p=280"},"modified":"2021-02-21T17:11:42","modified_gmt":"2021-02-21T17:11:42","slug":"spring-is-virtually-here","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/melroserunningclub.com\/RacingSeries\/2021\/02\/21\/spring-is-virtually-here\/","title":{"rendered":"Spring is Virtually Here"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I hope everyone is able to get out for a run in spite of  this cold weather. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Spring is coming and I have just updated the Racing Series races for April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many races have not posted 2021 dates yet so I can&#8217;t complete the full schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some of the races on the schedule are in person events with a virtual option. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I encourage you to sign up for the virtual option. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">April Races<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehapalua.com\/\">Hapalua Half<\/a><\/strong> in sunny Honolulu is our Half for the month of April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can run it any time in April and registration is $45. They will mail you a great shirt and medal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Continuing with the seaside theme we have the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/runsignup.com\/Race\/RI\/Newport\/NewportRhodeRaces\">Newport 5K Virtua<\/a><\/strong>l which you can run any time in April. Registration is $20 for the Virtual 5K.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image is-style-default\"><figure class=\"alignleft size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.melroserunningclub.com\/RacingSeries\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Nashoba-Learning-Group-5K-for-Autism.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-281\" width=\"270\" height=\"226\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Moving inland we have the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.racemenu.com\/events\/203151-9th-Annual-Nashoba-Learning-Group-5K-For-Autism\">Nashoba Learning Group 5K For Autism<\/a><\/strong> which you can run between April 1st and 16th. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Registration is $27.37 and <strong>they encourage teams<\/strong>. T-shirts to all runners and medals to the fastest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From April 10th to 17th we move to Berkshire County for the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mcla.edu\/student-life\/student-government\/samgomez\/index.php\">Sam Gomez 5K<\/a><\/strong>. This year&#8217;s race will benefit the North Berkshire Community Coalition in North Adams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Registration is $25 and includes a cotton t-shirt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moving north to New Hampshire we have the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.millenniumrunning.com\/stonyfield5k\">Stoneyfield Earth Day 5K<\/a><\/strong> from April 1st to the 18th. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Virtual registration is $25 and includes a t-shirt. They plan an in person race also, but we encourage virtual racing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Back to Boston for the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.baa.org\/races\/baa-5k\/registration\">BAA Virtual 5K<\/a><\/strong>. You can run this Boston classic the weekend of April 16-18. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For $45 you will get a race number and medal. For $60 you get all that and a race shirt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the 25th we head north again to Waterville Maine for the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/runsignup.com\/Race\/ME\/Waterville\/OneinFive5K?aflt_token=vkmwDmweQ4iCYn8otSOOnKQ3vCO8buOw\">One in 5 5K<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Registration is $30 and includes a shirt if you register by March 25th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Available Races<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>February &#8211; Five 5K, One 4 Miler, One 5 Miler, Two 10K and One Half.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>March &#8211; Six 5Ks, One 10K and One Half.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>April &#8211; Six 5Ks and One Half.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also, all of the Super Sunday races can be run through March 17th.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I hope everyone is able to get out for a run in spite of this cold weather.
