{"id":163,"date":"2018-10-24T23:59:08","date_gmt":"2018-10-24T23:59:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.melroserunningclub.com\/RacingSeries\/?p=163"},"modified":"2018-10-25T00:20:28","modified_gmt":"2018-10-25T00:20:28","slug":"race-weekend-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/melroserunningclub.com\/RacingSeries\/2018\/10\/24\/race-weekend-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"Race Weekend 2018!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Due to some scheduling changes, we have a great race weekend coming up.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday we have <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.active.com\/melrose-ma\/running\/distance-running-races\/melrose-family-ymca-spooky-sprint-5k-2018\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Melrose YMCA Spooky Sprint<\/a><\/strong> at 8:30.<\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-164\" src=\"http:\/\/www.melroserunningclub.com\/RacingSeries\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Melrose-Spooky-Sprint-300x233.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"233\" srcset=\"http:\/\/melroserunningclub.com\/RacingSeries\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Melrose-Spooky-Sprint-300x233.jpg 300w, http:\/\/melroserunningclub.com\/RacingSeries\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Melrose-Spooky-Sprint.jpg 311w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Registration is $30 for adults and $15 for 17 years and under.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is a big costume race and the kids really love it. Rain is in the forecast so you may want to come dressed as an alligator or a trash bag!<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t think it will be as bad as Marathon Monday, but dress the kiddos appropriately.<\/p>\n<p>There is race day registration and on\u00a0Friday, October 26th from 2pm-7pm there is bib pickup and registration at the Melrose\u00a0 YMCA.<\/p>\n<p>Wear your purple or at least a club hat. Let&#8217;s see how big of a group photo we can get.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, October 28th at 8:00 AM we have <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/rcm.nu\/2yJHOAS\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Howling Wolf Half and 6K<\/a><\/strong> at the Stone Zoo. Registration is still open <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-165\" src=\"http:\/\/www.melroserunningclub.com\/RacingSeries\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Howling-Wolf-Half-2018-273x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"273\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/melroserunningclub.com\/RacingSeries\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Howling-Wolf-Half-2018-273x300.jpg 273w, http:\/\/melroserunningclub.com\/RacingSeries\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Howling-Wolf-Half-2018.jpg 299w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 273px) 100vw, 273px\" \/>and they need more volunteers.\u00a0 The Half is $85 and the 6K is $35.<\/p>\n<p>Volunteers get two beer tickets and admission to the after race party. Volunteers also get a free winter running hat and free race entry to Miss Santa 5K on the Esplanade Dec 8th!!<\/p>\n<p>All of that in addition to that warm feeling in your heart from being a volunteer.<\/p>\n<p>All proceeds benefit <strong>The Stone Zoo<\/strong> and your race registration includes FREE admission to the zoo!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Team Melrose Running Club has 31 people<\/strong> signed up including a few volunteers! Way to go!<\/p>\n<p>We definitely need a team photo so wear your purple! This may be our largest race group so far this year. Maybe the Spooky Sprint will have a larger group?
