MRC Racing Series

After waiting for a few races to update their information, we finally had to move on from a few and add some new races.

We may add some races to the schedule but these races have either posted a date or we are 99% sure they will happen in 2022.

May 15 – Mystic Herring Run 5K and Paddle – Somerville – This weekend!

June 5 – Project Deep & Blarney Stone DOT Day 5K – Dorchester – Registration is open

June 12 – Samantha’s Harvest – Reading – Registration is open

July 4 – Jennifer Tinney July 4th Road Race – Boxford – Registration is open

August 2 – Yankee Home Coming 5K and 10 Miler – Newburyport – Registration is open

September – still looking

October 29 – Spooky Sprint 5K – Melrose – Registration is open

November 12 – DAV 5K – Fort Independence at Castle Island – Registration in NOT open

December – Bill Rodger’s Jingle Bell 5K – Somerville – Registration is NOT open

While things are getting back to normal, 2022 is still a bit of a hybrid year.

We are back to our Tuesday night runs and Sunday Long Runs and no masks required. But we did have to cancel our annual Holiday Party. With all of that I let this announcement slip a bit also.

Our top five runners for 2021 are:

5. Jackie Ecker with 11 points

2021 Racing Series Prizes

Over the past few years we have awarded jackets to the top two runners. But The Board realizes that many of us have a lot of running gear and a jacket or hat might not be something we really want or will use.

For 2021 we decided to give a credit to Squad Locker so that our top three runners can order what ever they want.

Prizes for 2021 are as follows:

1st Prize – $75
2nd Prize – $50
3rd Price $25
