I hate to say it but summer is almost over. While it felt hot on most of our runs, Berry Burbank says we’ve only had 14 days over 90° so far this summer.

The results for the Melrose-Wakefield and Cure SMA 5K races have been added. Let me know if one of your races appears to be missing.

Howling Wolf Half has been Cancelled

The big news is that our local Half Marathon has been cancelled. It has always been a struggle to keep this race going for several reasons. From the sound of the email from the race director, this race may be gone for good. He put up a good fight but the DCR has been a major challenge for this race right from the beginning.

The good news is that I have selected a replacement that seems to be very popular.

Harborside Half Marathon and 5K

2019 is the 4th running of this half and over the past few years a dozen or so club members have run this race. They will have a 5K race this year also.

So you can run The Half for 5 racing points or run the 5K for 1 racing point. Either way it should be a good time.

Everyone gets great food and Ipswich Ale, half marathoners also get a great quarter-zip shirt and a medal.

They do not have teams, so we will have to find our own gathering spot to a team photo and to hang out and have some fun.

I know that a lot of people have registered already. For everyone else I was able to get a 15% discount code!

The code is valid through October 20th, but don’t wait to sign up. I hear that this race has sold out previously.

Loco Running puts on a lot of great races and many of us have run many of them over the years. They know what they are doing.

This also gives us a November race and only one October race. With races changing dates or being cancelled, creating a schedule in December for the next twelve months can be challenging.
