Wakefield Alliance Against Violence
Just a quick update. I added the wrong race to our list by mistake.
The race for our series is the WAAV Racing to end Domestic Violence 5K. I added a link to a race in Maine. I’m sure they can use our support, but we like to keep support local where we can.
You can run this 5K anytime between October 1st and October 7th and it is of course a virtual race.
Registration is $30 and all runners will receive a Cooling Gaitor Face mask with logo. Register by October 1st and they will mail yours to you.
While a shirt is nice, a gaitor is extremely useful these days.
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. This year’s race will be virtual due to gathering restrictions.
The race is from 10/1-10/7. Run or walk your favorite 5k route and take a picture of yourself and your time/route once complete and post it to social media using the hashtag #racingtoenddomesticviolence
To sign up, go to the “Racing to end Domestic Violence” on the race list and donate $30. Every runner will receive a Cooling Gaitor Face mask with logo. For those who sign up before 10/1, masks can be picked up at the town hall in Wakefield during their business hours at the front desk from 9/28-9/30. For those who sign up after 10/1 we will email you and make arrangements for receipt of your mask.
All monies raised go toward our efforts of educating our community and assisting survivors.
