April Fools 4 Mile Road Race

WCRC 36th Annual April Fools 4 Mile Road Race
Saturday, April 1, 2017

Race number four in the MRC Racing Series is a four mile race, no foolin!

We usually have a pretty good sized group of MRC runners turn out each year for this race. I’ve run The Four five times.

Often there are snow banks and one year it snowed during the race.

This is an out and back USATF certified course. It is also essentially flat.April Fools 4 miler, April fool's

I like running back after the turn around. When you are running down Vic Lin Drive you can see everyone in front of you and everyone behind you. It’s fun to give a wave of encouragement when you see  someone you know.

Getting a wave or a shout out is fun also.

It can get a little crowded at the turn, but for most of the race you will have plenty of room.

This year Ipswich Brewery is the beverage sponsor. I’m pretty sure Smuttynose has been the sponsor for the past five years. While I’ll miss my Finest Kind IPA, I’m sure Ipswich will be serving up some tasty brews for us.

Like all races, we encourage car pooling and a wicked good time!

You’d be a fool to miss the April Fool’s 4 Miler!

Craicfest 2017 Recap

March 12th, 2017 No comments

It was a frosty one today. When we left Medford it was 9F and we were hoping the sun would warm things up.

We were lucky that we got to park in the Galleria garage and get some shelter from the elements. But even inside the garage it was freezing cold. As I walked around after the race, I could see my breath!

A quick count of MRC runners was eight. We had a group photo before the race with five of us. The photo is on the MRC Facebook page and I will post any others that I find.

Full results HERE.

I’ll have a more complete race recap tomorrow on the blog.

Thanks to everyone who came out today, we look forward to seeing everyone in Salisbury on April 1st!
